Anna Somos
Anna is a graduate student at Columbia University in the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She has an extensive corporate background in global outsourcing. She pioneered GE Capital International Services’s (now Genpact) first Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) efforts to Eastern Europe. As a process specialist she has worked in India, Belgium, The Netherlands and the United States on implementing quality management models in the frame of Six Sigma. Later on, Anna joined ExxonMobil and led their global financial reporting and analysis outsourcing from Washington DC to Hungary. After the successful transition of the Supply and Commodity Trading department she was responsible for the financial settlement and reporting of the Asia-Pacific region.
Currently, she is pursuing her master’s degree in Economic and Political Development at SIPA. Anna has a B.A. in marketing from Hungary (College of Modern Business Studies) and an M.A. in International Management from Belgium (Kortrijk).
